1. What is the difference between Tarot and Oracle Decks?

Tarot and oracle decks are both tools for divination and self-reflection, but they have key differences. A tarot deck typically follows a structured system with 78 cards, divided into the Major and Minor Arcana, each with specific meanings. In contrast, an oracle deck offers more flexibility—there’s no set number of cards or structure, and each deck is unique, reflecting the creator’s chosen theme or message. Whether you prefer tarot for its depth and tradition or an oracle deck for its intuitive guidance, both can enhance your spiritual practice.

2. How do I read Tarot cards?

Reading tarot cards involves intuition, symbolism, and interpretation. Start by shuffling your tarot deck while focusing on your question or intention. Draw a card or spread and examine its imagery, suit, and position. Many tarot readers use a guidebook for meanings, but over time, you’ll develop your own understanding. The key to reading tarot is to trust your intuition and let the cards guide you.

3. Are Tarot and Oracle cards spiritual?

Yes! Both tarot and oracle cards can be powerful spiritual tools. They connect with your intuition, higher self, and the universal energy that surrounds us. Some people use tarot and oracle decks for guidance, meditation, and self-discovery, while others see them as a way to tap into spiritual wisdom. Whether you follow a particular belief system or simply use them for reflection, tarot and oracle cards can offer profound insights.

4. What is a Tarot spread?

A tarot spread is a specific layout of cards used for a reading. Each position in the spread has a meaning, adding depth to your interpretation. Common spreads include the three-card spread (past, present, future) and the Celtic Cross spread, which provides detailed insight into a situation. You can also create your own tarot spreads based on your personal reading style.

5. How do I shuffle Tarot cards?

Shuffling your tarot deck is an important step to clear energy and set your intention. You can shuffle like a regular deck of playing cards, overhand shuffle, or even spread them out on a table and mix them. Some tarot readers prefer to cut the deck in a specific way before drawing cards. Choose the method that feels right to you and allows you to connect with your tarot deck.

6. I’m a beginner, what can I expect from Tarot cards?

If you're new to tarot, expect a journey of self-discovery and insight! Tarot cards help you explore your thoughts, emotions, and life’s challenges. As a beginner, take your time learning the meanings of each card and practice simple tarot spreads. Don’t worry about memorising everything at once—trust your intuition and enjoy the process. Tarot is a tool for guidance, not a set of fixed answers.

7. How should I spread Tarot cards?

When laying out your tarot spread, consider the number of cards and their positions. For simple readings, a one-card draw offers quick insight, while a three-card spread can show past, present, and future influences. More complex spreads like the Celtic Cross provide a deeper look at a situation. The best way to spread tarot cards is in a way that resonates with you and the question you’re asking.Â
