About the Fairytales Oracle:
Fairytales are ancient narratives of good and evil, joy and sorrow, and struggle and triumph, like a trail of white stones through the dark and thorny forest of life. They show us the way forward and give us hope. Dr Kate Forsyth explores some of the world’s most powerful fairytales.
Kate describes, “Long ago, fairy tales were women’s sacred stories, created to explore the key psychological crises of a woman’s life – birth, puberty, motherhood, death, rebirth. They celebrated all aspects of feminine power, including the darker sides, the crone and the cutter of the thread of life. With the spread of oppressive patriarchal societies and belief systems, the pre-literate goddess myths were driven underground, deliberately camouflaged in order to save them. Their motifs and metaphors are secret codes that carry hidden meanings designed to teach and empower us on our life’s journey.”
You will learn where Fairy Tales came from, what they mean and how you can turn to them for guidance. Fairytales are not merely stories designed to enchant and entertain: on a more profound and mysterious level, they explore genuine and challenging human dilemmas, warn us of dangers and give us the tools we need to overcome those hazards.
